More Ziva!

As you can see, Ziva's pretty much all healthy. Her fur has grown back, but she's still going under treatment for heart worms.

The help from her foster home has helped a lot, and she's close to recovery.

Right now, as she is almost fully recovered, she needs a home to love her forever.

Ziva catching some sun (Sep. 2, 2010)

It's been a while, things have been hectic, but the two pups look great! I have been getting requests to have an update on Ziva so here she is.

Who could say no to a face like this?

Ziva catching some sunshine :)

As you can see, Ziva is well and healthy and she is happy and active. It's amazing what some tender love and care will do to help a dog. But she still needs help to find a home.

Danica (August 12, 2010) - :D

Things have been busy this past month, but we are getting close to showing
Danica at her current state.
Full of energy, Danica knows what time it is when the camera comes out.

As you can see, Danica has changed a lot from the first time we saw her. Her fur is beginning to grow back, and she full of energy. Her skin is about 90% healed, and she is making a really fast recovery. Much of this is due to her own will to live, but also the love and care that her foster family has given her.
To see more pictures of Danica, or information on the rest of AT, please check our fanpage or Twitter. Danica and Ziva both need homes, so if you know anyone willing to take them in, please feel free to contact us at inquiries@animalstaiwan.org

Danica: Checking out the new digs (Aug 1-5)

So much has changed from Danica's first visit to the vet. This picture is adorable, I can't believe how much she has improved.
As you can see her hair is growing back. It is amazing to think that she was diagnosed with Babesia and has recovered more or less. She was given Atovaquone and Azithromycin to cure her, and while this was a procedure that was over 10,000NT, it's amazing to see how much she's improved.
While we have helped find her a foster home to help look after her while she recovers, we are looking to help find her a future home to stay forever. If you know anyone that is interested in getting involved, please contact peter@animalstaiwan.org or you can our site at http://www.animalstaiwan.org/.

Danica was on the news...paper (July 30, 2010)

We found Danica a foster home to take care of her, but she still needs a family to take her in, if you do, please let us know!
Swelling from Danica's eyes have reduced, and she was released from the hospital. Luckily, an Animals Taiwan volunteer took her in.

The fur comes off (Danica & Ziva) - July 21, 2010

With the fur falling off, you can see Danica's hindside, but still not as severe as before.
Mucus is still in the eyes, but the swelling has already gone down and she can see.
Danica checking around the premise.
Ziva for a check up, after a few days at the vet, she's already looking better.

Open up your eyes Danica! July 19, 2010

As you can see Danica has gone under some serious treatment, but the better parts are coming through. The eyes that were once swollen shut have now started to clear up. The white color from the eyes is partially due to the flash as well as the mucus build-up that had caused problems.
Ack! They shot me in the butt!
Look at Danica and her boney frame... still hanging in there! For more photos of Danica, check out our facebook page at  http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Help-puppies-Danica-Ziva-find-a-home/141251459238526?ref=ts

Ziva's first night at the vet's - July 15, 2010

After her arrival at the vet's, Ziva was given immediate treatment and put in a solitary cage. Although she was in a "stabler" state than Danica, she was still in serious condition, her eyes were nearly swollen shut, and she was also experiencing severe skin problems, with much of her fur already falling off.

First few days at the vet for Danica - July 15, 2010

As you can see, Danica's eyes were still swollen shut from mucus build-up.
Thanks to the vets, Danica was under great care, plus her sister was only a few cages away :D

Ziva's Arrival (July 14, 2010)

After inspection, Animals Taiwan realized the severity of Danica's condition and had to try to catch Ziva, Danica's sister.

On July 14, Ziva was caught and brought over to the vet's and given immediate treatment. As you can see, she also had skin problems and was undernourished.

Danica's Inspection at the Vet's: July 12, 2010

Upon inspection at the vet's it was noticed she had 4 large bite marks on her rear end. Two of the puncture wounds were infected and found to be full of maggots. Her rear end was also full of puss due to the infection. The vets later washed her wounds out and gave her a shot to reduce the infection. Due to her condition, Danica was under watch by the vets, and stayed with them.

The Story of Danica: The Chase, the Catch - July 12, 2010

So this story begins with Danica on July 12, 2010. We will be posting this story up twice a week, until we bring you to their present state.

While walking around the neighborhood, a volunteer noticed 2 puppies by the side of the road. She stopped immediately and tried to catch them. She caught one, due to its lack of energy, but the other rushed off into the bushes - this is the story of how we found Danica.

Once caught, Danica was rushed to the vet. She had terrible skin problems from being left unattended. Far underweight, she had many "wrinkles" due to dehydration and a lack of food. The dehydration she suffered was so bad that her eyes were closed up due to the build up of mucus. Due to her critical condition, she had to stay at the vets for further treatment and aid. This is what Danica looked like when she first came to the vet.
